It is important to file your income tax each year, including the year you arrive in Canada as a Newcomer

We provide a FREE program where you can file your income tax returns based on the previous year, regardless of your income. All volunteers who help with the Volunteer Income Tax Program are registered with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

What you need to know

• Keep your personal information up to date with the CRA, including your bank account direct deposit information
• CRA may ask for copies of your tax documents (called an audit). Be sure to keep your documents for a minimum of 6 years
• When coming to Lake View Learning Centre to drop off your taxes, you will need to provide your basic information including SIN, dependents’ information, and a direct deposit slip.

All returns are processed in a timely matter dependent on volunteer availability and volume of active files. Please contact our office for more information.
